IT might not seem like much from the outside but inside this Western Star vehicle is heaven on earth for any truckie.
It’s for the owner or operator that lives on the road.

For around $460,000, you can get yourself the new Western Star Road Star model, which is all about driving in luxury and boasts being the best-dressed truck on the market.
It features an integrated Skype camera, a 32inch HD curved TV, built-in 65L fridge/freezer, Newspresso coffee machine, a driver’s lounge and a remote-control bed that can be lowered into position.
It also includes synthetic hardwood flooring and a custom ISRI driver’s seat.
The truck is based on the Western Star 4900 model and was built in celebration of the Western Star brand which celebrates 50 years this year since its inception in 1967.
With so much focus on what’s being pulled behind the truck, Western Star has turned its attention to the driver and providing them with the ultimate comfort.
The limited-edition truck is currently touring the country in conjunction with the V8 Supercar racing series and stopped into the Roma saleyards enroute to Darwin.
Western Star Trucks Queensland and Northern Rivers Regional Sales Manager Mark ten Broeke said the Road Star offered a one-of-a-kind driving experience.
“This is a unique truck … (because) it’s a very unique cab interior,” he said.
“It’s for the owner or operator that lives on the road.”
The Road Star will head to Darwin and Townsville for the V8 events, where it will be on display at the local Penske branches.
On completion of the tour, it will be available for sale.
