Visitors to participating studs during Stock & Land Sheep Week can enter the draw to win a Premium Paton 1.5 Tonne Trail Feeder valued at $5000.
Nick Luxton, Paton, said the larger capacity unit could be used to feed several mobs and could save a farmer hours in precious time and thousands in labour costs, while making the job of feeding stock safer and easier.
It has a remote actuator trail feeding door, which means farmers can press a button to open the feeder’s door, instead of having to jump out of the cab.
He said they guaranteed their products. The feeder’s strong, 100 per cent galvanised construction means it will last a lifetime.
For more than 40 years, the team at Paton has been producing leading livestock feeding equipment, which is designed, engineered and built in Australia.
The Premium model also has leaf springs, tail lights, a hard weather top, 15″ Sunraysia Rims and Landcruiser tyres and a jockey wheel.
Mr Luxton said trail feeders were a bit of a “roll call” so farmers could more easily see which animals were feeding compared to using other feeders.
“You can come into the paddock and come across it and start feeding along the trail, the animals all turn up and you can see them.
“[You can see if] they’re present or one is standing on its own,” he said.
