The 125,292 hectare (309,603 acre) property is regarded as one of the pick holdings in the region, located in Cunnamulla’s famed “salad bowl”. It has an estimated carrying capacity of 64,000 dry sheep equivalents.
The sale of Clover Downs comes as Bydand Pastoral Company lists the major Cunnamulla property Noorama Station. CLICK HERE to read that story.
Marketing agent Rawdon Briggs, Colliers International, said the buyer of Clover Downs would have a option to purchase 12,000 Merino ewes as part of the sale.
Hassad Australia is part of the Hassad Food Company, which is owned by the Qatar Investment Authority, a state-owned investment fund. Hassad Australia operates 12 other rural enterprises across Australia.
According to the Hassad website, the primary purpose of the operation was to act as a large scale sheep breeding hub for the companies other properties.
Hassad bought the former Clyde Agriculture holding for $18.5 million in April 2010. The company has since carried out a significant infrastructure improvement program, including the construction of the Woodstock exclusion fence protecting almost all of the holding.
Clover Downs is being marketed by the expressions of interest process through Colliers International.
