Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) has predicted cattle prices would remain higher, year-on-year, for the first six months of 2017.
According to it’s 2017 Australian Cattle Industry Projections quarterly update, the 2017 outlook for cattle slaughter in Australia remained at 7.1 million head, down 200,000, or three per cent, year-on-year. But the MLA said a slowly growing herd was likely to result in prices trending lower, into 2018.
