Investigations are continuing into the roll over of a triple road train on the Landsborough Highway, 25 kilometres south of Cloncurry.
Initial investigations indicate that the truck drifted off the road to the left hand side of the road at 5.20pm, Sunday March 19.
“When the driver has attempted to correct the positioning of the truck the last trailer has flicked out further to the left,” Cloncurry Road Policing Unit Constable, Nick Haines said.
“As it's done this the truck was passing a drainage gully that dropped away sharply from the roadway.
“The last trailer appears to have hit this gully and this has flipped the dolly and last trailer causing the ISO bulk container on the trailer to dislodge, travel a short distance on the roadway, before coming to rest in the bushes bordering the road.”
The ISO containers were believed to be empty resulting in no leakages or spills.
“There was no injuries as a result of the traffic crash, the driver and sole occupant of the prime mover did not require any medical attention,” Constable Haines said.
“The trailer and dolly were moved from the roadway on the morning of March 20. At approximately this time the minor gouging in the roadway was patched.
“I encourage anyone with information to contact PoliceLink on 131 4444, particularly anyone with dash cam footage.”
