Buyers heading to Omeo for Wednesday’s Hereford sale, March 15, will have the opportunity to bid for Peter Faithfull’s Hereford steers and heifers.
Mr Faithfull’s 180 mixed sex Hereford calves, by Mawarra and Sugarloaf bulls always attract a lot of attention. He is very particular about the bulls he buys and is prepared to pay for the right bulls.
Weaned, and having 2x5-in1 vaccinations, and Arrest for the flies, is another advantage for potential buyers. Peter’s heifers always sell at, or near the top of the heifer market.
“We have had a very good season here at Omeo, and i am very pleased with the growth and condition of my steers and heifers this year,” Mr Faithfull said.
A feature of this Hereford sale is the competition that stems from repeat buyers wanting to purchase the best quality heifers, for future mothers.
In many past years, this has seen the Faithfull heifers top the sale, at times outselling his steers.
While Hereford-Shorthorn heifers sell at top price too, it is a competition to set records.
