A Pentland grazing family has lost the second of its two properties to receivers.
On Wednesday afternoon receivers Ferrier Hodgson, acting on behalf of Rabobank and accompanied by police, took possession of the Lloyd and Nolene Bradshaw’s second property, 8,215 ha (20,000 acre) Ballabay, 20km northwest of Pentland.
Receivers took possession of the family’s 7,395.53 hectare (18,275 acre) Laurel Vale, 10km from Prairie, on 1 February.
A family spokeswoman said Nolene Bradshaw and son Brumby were arrested on Wednesday – and later released – as they refused to leave the property.
The Bradshaws, clients of Rabobank since 2005, have been in battle with the lending institution since 2013 when they approached the bank concerned they would be unable to meet a loan repayment due impacts from the drought and the live export ban.
