A SOUTH Australian bull has broken the selling record for the Simmental breed after it was knocked down for $160,000 at a sale yesterday.
Vendors Tom and Lizzy Baker, Woonallee Simmentals sold Woonallee Los Angeles for $160,000 to Brett Nobbs, Nobbs Cattle Co, Duaringa at their on-property autumn sale.
The sale topped the previous Australian Simmental bull record of $46,000 set by the Bakers in 2013 for Woonallee Gold Rush G061 and purchased by Scott York, Villa Park Beef, Dulacca.
Other sale highlights included A huge thank you to everyone that supported the Elite Production Bull and Female Sales.
According to the stud’s Facebook page, they had a total clearance of 02 bulls with an average of $9760 and a total clearance of 36 females with an average of $7208.
