Steers to $1400
Heifers to $1290
STEERS sold to $1400 at Strathalbyn on Friday, in a very strong sale.
Elders Strathalbyn branch manager Danny Reynolds said the full yarding of 1100 weaners met with animated bidding, particularly restockers looking for breeders.
“There was good quality from a weight point of view,” he said. “On the back of a brilliant feed season.”
Mr Reynolds said steers were generally $30 dearer, or about 10 cents a kilogram.
“Heifers, while being lighter in weight, were the big improvers – up to 30c/kg dearer,” he said.
