Sale hosted a special store sheep sale after its fat lamb sale on Tuesday.
The 1700 head of ewes and lambs topped at $250 for AD&KM Jones’ pen of 99 1.5 year-old, first-cross Border Leceister and Merino (BLM) ewes, which were secured by Elders Yarram.
Elders Yarram also purchased the second top-priced pen of WA&MA Henebury’s 37 1.5 year-old, BLM ewes. These sold for $238/head.
S&R Langley’s top 161 1.5 year-old BLM ewes for $176 and the next 100 at $148.
Older BLM ewes included WA&MA Henebury’s 15 2.5 year-olds that made $166.
A Zilm’s 21 BLM ewes averaged at $145.
BM&DE Lee also had some older ewes, including 37 3.5 year-olds that sold for $148, and two pens of 4.5 year-olds (92 at $141 and 52 at $118).
AD&KM Jones also topped the BLM ewe lamb section, with their pen of 60 selling for $192.
AD&KM Jones & BK Jones & SK Perry sold 126 BLM ewe lambs for $182, and St Katherine's 104 sold for $178.
Other BLM ewe lambs made $120-$146.
S Gordon’s 49 wooly lambs made $106.
AD&KM Jones also sold 158 Suffolk cross lambs that averaged $119.
The family also had BLM wether lambs, including 77 that fetched $99/head and 66 that made $87. Overall, BLM wether lambs averaged just shy of $90.
V Lidstone sold three Border Leicester rams for $400 each.
