The Faroe Partnership, The Gums, Muntham, will offer 150 steers and 80 heifers.
The Angus calves reflect the use of Boonaroo bulls for many years. Farm manger Mick Kearns said he liked the bulls and “what they put into the calves”. He plans to wean the calves on Monday December 19.
An Elders Mt Gambier account has bought their steer calves for a number of years.
“It’s because they grow into big bullocks that are sold still with their milk teeth,” agent Rick Smith, Landmark Casterton, said.
The March/April drop calves are EU accredited.
Last year, the Faroe Partnership calves were sold for export last year at 365-374c/kg lwt. This year, they’re estimated the top line of about 50 calves will weigh around 370kg.
