Last month, Stock & Land’s livestock sales and administration representative Jennifer Chen married Mark Shaw at a family-owned property on the Mornington Peninsula.
Despite the forecast storms on Saturday October 22, the couple was determined to celebrate their nuptials on the picturesque farm, The Hollow, in Red Hill.
The private property was owned by Mark’s late grandparents. It was originally a dairy farm and changed into a commercial broiler chicken farm in 1961, when the dairy company no longer saw the benefit of sending out a collecting truck up the hill.
”Getting married at The Hollow is especially meaningful to us because it is also where Mark’s parents got married, and may of his family also got married there as well,” Jennifer said.
“It’s a very special bond.”
The weather calmed down for the ceremony, and Jennifer said it included her favourite part of the day.
“When we were at the altar and looking at each other – looking into his eyes was a real moment of calm and togetherness and it was really precious.”
