Winner: Grand champion on hoof winner with Jenny Nichols, with Nagle College, Bairnsdale.
The quality was outstanding at the Royal Geelong Show Beef Carcase Competition, according to Royal Geelong Agricultural & Pastoral Society president Sheree Seiffert.
Ms Seiffert said while numbers were down from last year’s competition with only 41 head, the quality of the cattle was very impressive. An entry from Nagle College – a Limousin x Angus heifer – topped both the on-hoof and over-hooks judging. Coming through the Medium Yearling class, its carcase was awarded 92.0 points.
Alex Herd judged the cattle on the hoof.
