The top price of $2450 was paid by Elders Warracknabeal, Vic, for four black baldy heifers with four calves at-foot, not rejoined, from LD Mulraney.
Weaver Livestock sold three 2.5-year-old Red Angus-Simmental-Gelbvieh heifers with Red Angus CAF, not rejoined, at $2150 and two Hereford-Simmental cows, not rejoined, with two Red Angus CAF to John Chay Livestock at $2020.
Jasmar Park, Nelson, Vic, sold nine mixed age Angus cows (run with Charolais bulls) with nine Charolais CAF at $2200 to Owen Merrett, Millicent.
Dignan & North, Heywood, Vic, sold 14 mixed age Angus-Friesian cows, rejoined to Angus bulls, with 14 Angus CAF at $2010 to Landmark Loxton.
Thomas Foods International paid the top money of the heifer yarding at $1570 or $3.33 a kilogram for 20 Yamburgan and South Bundarra-blood, EU-accredited Shorthorn heifers, averaging 471kg, sold by Still Water, Penola. TFI also bought the same vendor’s second draft, av 438kg, at $1500 or $3.42/kg.
Another great draft of Yamburgan and South Bundarra-blood Shorthorn heifers, av 448kg, offered by Patanga Pastoral, Avenue Range, sold at $1520 or $3.39/kg. Patanga’s second draft, av 412kg, sold at $1375 or $3.33/kg to TFI.
VR&CM Kent sold seven Charolais heifers, av 280kg, at 8-10 months, for $1120 or $4/kg to Rodwells Keith.
Leaella Partnership sold 64 Banquet and Coolana-blood Angus and Angus-cross heifers, PCAS and EU-accredited, weighing 251-288kg, for an average of $1125.
Leaella’s top heifer draft, av 288kg, sold at $1170 or $4.06/kg to Spence Dix & Co, buying a second pen from the same vendor, av 277kg, at $1165 or $4.20/kg. Elders Keith bought the balance of the Leaella heifers, paying $1130 or $3.93/kg for 10 Angus-cross heifers, av 287kg, and $1070 or $4.26/kg for 24 Angus and Angus-cross spring-drop heifers, av 251kg.
