Purchasers of equal top-price ram for $6000 the Sutton family, Wattle Farm Border Leicester stud, Temora, Christine (7), Elizabeth (9), and Jeff with Barry Harper, Cadell Border Leicesters.
A large crowd was drawn to Ariah Park for what was the 41st Annual Cadell Border Leicester sale in the studs 70th year.
The Harper family offered and sold 24 stud rams topping at $6000 twice for an average of $3292, 144 of the 158 flock rams offered sold for an average price of $1597, while four of the 21 stud ewes offered sold to $400 for an average of $363.
Both paying the top money were R.W. and S.J. Hall, Raywil Border Leicester, “Coolabah”, Swan Hill, Victoria, who purchased Cadell 612-15 for $6000 and Wattle Farm Border Leicester stud, Temora also paying $6000 for Cadell 301-15.
The sale was conducted by agents in conjunction Elders and Landmark of Wagga with Joe Wilks and Peter Cabot the auctioneers.
