Swan Hill agents for the first time embraced the digital age at its annual breeder’s sale on Friday being the first saleyard sheep auction to welcome bidding by electronic interface.
Claimed to be global first, Elite Livestock Auctions, loaded details of 35 main breeder lines onto its interface platform then hosted online bidding on 63 percent of these feature lots.
The move generated broad interest with buyers from Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia actively placing bids, and NSW interest watching online.
Two lots were purchased by online interests.
Elite Livestock Auctions is a relatively new player in online auctions field however while Swan Hill may have been its first sheep sale event its technology has enhanced bidding at a good number of Qld stud bull sales.
This week’s successful launch into commercial sheep saleyard marketing at Swan Hill has encouraged interest for more feature sales in the feature, a company spokesperson said.
