A junior heifer has taken out supreme exhibit of the combined Hereford and Poll Hereford judging.
Exhibited by McLachlan Group, the June 2015-drop heifer Talis Twilight L962 came out of the very first Hereford class and went onto beat more than 60 exhibits from 11 studs from Victoria and NSW.
It was the only animal Warren Miller bought to Melbourne and the heifer had won supreme female at the Brisbane Show about six weeks ago.
She was sired by Karina Cherry Z8, an AI sire that also produced the $80,000 bull Tycolah Jovial F77 that sold at the Dubbo national in 2012.
The heifer will be offered for sale at the Sydney Region Hereford Group event in early November.
Mr Miller said she had a clean front with “heaps of power” behind it and good feet and legs.
In judging supreme, the heifer beat the junior champion bull – an 18 month-old exhibited by Ke Warra Poll Hereford stud, Moorooduc. The 838kg bull had an eye muscle area of 111 sq cm.
