THE top price at Valma Poll Dorsets’ spring ram sale has “blown away” principal Andrew McLauchlan.
The Tasmanian-based stud’s sale reached $25,900.
“His LambPlan figures are pretty exceptional – high growth and, muscle – so there is no doubt the buyer that bought him is very much into LambPlan,” Mr McLauchlan said.
The ram, sold to Aberdeen Poll Dorsets, Henty, NSW, had a ASBVs of birth weight 0.57kg, post weaning fat (Pfat) -0.9mm and post weaning eye muscle depth (PEMD) 2.6mm.
The rams were sold on Monday through AuctionsPlus, with the animals penned at the Royal Melbourne Show.
