The conditions were not ideal, but over 300 hardy souls braved the elements for Wednesday’s Birchip Cropping Group (BCG) main field day.
The event was held at Warmur, south-west of Birchip, and despite more than 60mm of rain for the week leading into the day, it was full steam ahead.
There were a range of speakers at the event, speaking on matters as diverse as cereal agronomy to grain storage and handling.
While some roads were cut due to excessive rainfall, organisers were thrilled with the turnout for the day.
“It shows people are very committed to learning more,” said BCG chief executive Chris Sounness.
