The Collinsville stud, Hallett, had full clearance of 200 rams at its on-property sale on Tuesday, with the sale attracting buyers from across SA, as well as WA, NSW, Qld and Vic.
The top price price was $32,000 for a May 2015-drop Poll Merino weighing 120 kilograms and with 21.5 micron fleece with standard deviation of 3.3, coefficient of vairation of 15.3 and comfort factor of 98.9 per cent.
It was knocked down to Jim, Mark and James Vandeleur, Rices Creek Poll Merinos, Saddleworth and Tintinara.
The ram impressed the Vandeleur family after inspecting it at the recent Classing Classic at Murray Bridge, particularly for its outstanding wool quality.
A semen share in the ram will be going to the Mianelup Poll Merino and Merino stud in Gnowangerup, WA.
Collinsville principal George Millington said he was pleased with how the sale went.
"The average was $5 up on last year, but we had 50 more rams for sale," he said.
"I think it's good that prices ranged from $32,000 to $800, so everyone was able to have a selection of what they wanted."
