Dairy women left their stresses at the gate for the annual Legendairy Ladies Luncheon.
Almost 300 south-west farmers kicked off their boots at the community centre in Noorat on Tuesday, September 6.
South West Coast Member, group founder and guest speaker Roma Britnell said “legendairy chicks” could come together for a few hours of laughter, food and solidarity.
“The best thing we can do is look out for each other,” she said.
Ms Britnell said she hoped the event would build resilience and encourage positivity despite the hardship.
WestVic event organiser Liza Fahey said she was “very happy” with the event and thanked industry support.
“A lot (of these women) are okay on the outside but hurting on the inside,” she said. “This is an opportunity for them to catch up and for us as an industry to check everyone is okay.”
Health advocate, GP and special guest Dr Sally Cockburn – `Dr Feelgood’ – brought laughter, encouragement and friendly advice to a hurting industry.
Dr Cockburn said she hoped to “lift spirits” to help look past the “sh** that’s going down”.
