VICTORIA Valley Meat Exports has finally commenced operations at their newly commissioned abattoir at Trafalgar.

VICTORIA Valley Meat Export has finally commenced operations at their newly commissioned abattoir at Trafalgar. Owner Peter Povolinka said It had taken two and a half years to bring this project to fruition, but he had enjoyed every minute of it.

“I never intended to have to start from scratch, but this brand new, state of the art processing plant was recently commissioned, and now operating,” he said. 

“This is the first multi-task processing plant in Australia, we are World Accredited, and hope to extend our boning on site capacity, soon.”

The company currently employs 35 people, but it is set to increase production to slaughter more than 200 head of cows and bulls per day, with the work force totalling around 100 people over the next 2-4 years.
