THE Victorian Farmers Federation (VFF) is calling on passionate agriculture advocates to fill several key positions on its executive.
Elections will be held at this year’s Conference in July for VFF President and Vice President, as well as the Livestock Group President and Vice President.
Both VFF President, Peter Tuohey, and Livestock President Ian Feldtmann, will not be renominating as they have served the maximum four years.
“Peter Tuohey and Ian Feldtmann have done a fantastic job during their four years in the roles.” VFF chief executive Graeme Ford said.
“During this time we have seen some significant wins for agriculture, including a $600 million commitment from the State Government for rural investment thanks to the Port of Melbourne lease, the $440 million Murray Basin Rail Project, and other key initiatives.
“Representing the VFF is a big responsibility but it’s also an opportunity for people who are passionate about promoting a fair deal for agriculture to step up, lead the way and make a real difference for agriculture”, Mr Ford said.
As well as these key leadership roles, a number of other positions are up for election in Commodity Groups and for Policy Committees.
Available positions include:
· VFF President and Vice President
· VFF Livestock President and Vice President; regional representatives for Wimmera, East Gippsland, North East and Corangamite regions, and Additional Councillor
· VFF Horticulture executive member
· VFF Farm Business and Regional Development, Workplace Relations, Land Management and Ag and Vet Chemicals committee members
· Water Council committee members for Western, Central North, Central, Northern and East Gippsland regions
