More rain set to drive markets

With more rain tipped for southern Australia and strong demand for store cattle emerging from the southwest last Friday at Ballarat, three store cattle markets in western Victoria this week can expect cracking competition. A Kyneton sale of 1000 head on Wednesday, Hamilton offering 2000 head on Thursday and an advertised 2000-head yarding for Warrnambool on Friday, all with plenty of spring-drop calves, should give opportunities for those seeking to replenish winter stock numbers.
