Agri-business supplier Elders Rural Services has expanded its presence in Tasmania buying out the livestock, wool and rural merchanise business of Landmark Operations.
The deal, which was completed swiftly this week, will see seven former Landmark staff join Elders at its Launceston and Winnaleah branches.
Elders southern zone general manager Malcolm Hunt said the move continues a structure expansion of the Elders network that has seen its staff numbers increased to 50 over the 12 months.
“Three years ago when the company was under pressure we downsized the Tasmanian business but we pledged we would be back” he said.
