GRILL'D burger restaurants across WA will support farmers within the Waroona-Harvey fire zone.
Through its ongoing 'Local Matters' initiative, Grill'd customers get tokens for every burger purchased which are used to pick one of three local charities, re-selected each month, to which Grill'd makes a proportional donation.
In February, the chain's WA restaurants will support the bushfires appeal, with all funds going directly to WAFarmers Gofundme account, which supports farmers affected by the fires and their recovery effort.
Leederville restaurant manager Daniel Griffin and WAFarmers chief executive officer Stephen Brown last week emphasised the importance of all monetary donations towards the appeal.
Mr Griffin said if one per cent of customers donated through Local Matters, it would equate to about $9000 raised through Grill'd customers.
Mr Griffin said that every Grill'd customer received a 'Local Matters' token, through which they could connect with the local community and learn more about the bushfire victims and the groups working to support them.
"We are helping to make the donation process accessible and spread information by setting up information hot-spots for our guests, through which they can find out how to best contact bushfire groups and what they can do to better connect and be involved," he said.
"We will be providing the leaflets about WAFarmers and the Gofundme account and how to donate, so we hope people will take them home, and more people will be able to donate direct to the appeal, direct from home.
"It is my hope that by getting public support and setting our teams up with the knowledge for our guests we will be able to help spread knowledge and gain additional support and donations for our 'Local Matters' groups."
Mr Brown said the support demonstrated by Grill'd Burgers was outstanding, with 100 per cent of funds received going directly to the farmers in the affected area.
"Cash continues to be the most practical donation, with the purchase of fencing and feed being most needed at present," Mr Brown said.
