NORTHERN Territory landholder Sterling Jack Buntine of Alroy Downs Station was convicted and fined $1000 in the Camooweal Magistrates Court on November 14 for moving stock into Queensland without a travel permit.
Buntine, 44, did not appear in person in court but entered a plea of guilty in writing to a breach of the Stock Act.
The court was told Buntine moved 396 head of cattle from Alroy Downs Station across the border to the railhead at Winton without a travel permit on November 6, 2011.
It was also alleged that Buntine regularly moved cattle across the border and was aware that he was required to hold a travel permit.
