COTTON picking is underway on Cubbie Station at Dirranbandi in South West Queensland.
Given fine weather over 20 days some 26 John Deere round bale cotton pickers will harvest some 220,000 bales of raw cotton.
About 1000ha is being picked a day yielding about 10.5 bales/hectare.
A team of 36 roadtrains are being used to cart the bales to three ginneries for processing.
Queensland Country Life's senior photographer Rodney Green was at Cubbie to capture these great images.
