MICHAEL, Margaret and Shaun Blenkiron, Gumshire stud, Keyneton, won the supreme pig of the show ribbon with a Large White boar – the second year running that a Large White boar had taken out supreme.
Judge Robert Overend, Londonderry, Northern Ireland, said the boar was one he would he happy to have in his breeding program.
"This boar has got a beautiful topline, lovely feet and legs, a good head and he's well-rounded up the hams," he said.
"He's a lovely pig and one I would like to take home with me."
The winner came from the boar under five months class, and caught his eye as soon it entered the ring.
"This pig really stood out, he's very active and has a lovely topline," he said.
"My son won't believe I've chosen a Large White as supreme pig. He breeds Large Whites and I breed Landrace, so he won't believe I've gone this way.
"But the Large White is just a superb pig and a deserving supreme champion."
