FOLLOWING their success at Australian Sheep and Wool Show, young stud Mount Monmot Perendales has made a splash on the show circuit this year, winning Supreme Perendale exhibit at the Royal Melbourne Show.
The two year-old ram scored highly with judge Rob Waddell who said the well-bred market focused ram displayed ideal Perendale attributes with superior muscling, carcase and even fleece cover.
Mount Monmot Perendales Malcolm Fletcher and daughter Trudy Boyer exhibited 2 rams and five ewes at the show, winning all the champions and the Supreme exhibit.
The sire and dam of the champion sheep were from sister stud Newhaven, South Island, New Zealand, and were imported in 2011 when the stud was first established.
Mr Fletcher said the breed was “born to perform in the paddock” with the show wins an added bonus.
