STRONG client results with Claronden Poll Dorsets resulted in a greater number of repeat and new buyers at the annual ram sale which sold to $2100, averaged $801.
The 10th on property sale this week which sold 110 of the 120 rams, had greater competition from both long-term clients as well as two new bidders from Hamilton and Cavendish which helped buoy prices.
Sam Rundell from Condah purchased the top two 17month-old stud rams for $2100 and $1900, which recorded weaning weight (WT) 7.4kilograms and 7.9kg, PFAT 11.0millimetres and 11.9mm with PEMD 0.2mm and -0.8mm respectively.
New face in the audience Philip Rentsch, from Cavendish made an impression on the sale buying six rams that av $1083. Mr Rentsch bought to $1400 for lot 3, a 17month-old stud ram , with WWT 6.5kg, PFAT -1.6mm and PEMD -0.5mm.
Volume buyer Tom Waldon, Hamilton purchased 12 rams to a high $800, av $538, while Waratah Pastoral Company, Cavendish, purchased six rams to $900 for a 15month-old ram with WWT 10.3kg, PFAT-1.8mm and PEMD -0.1mm.
