Tasmanian croppers are facing average to below average yields, following a drier than normal winter and spring, according to a new report.
Rural Bank Tasmanian relationship manager David Robertson, said much of Tasmania experienced the driest October on record.
“A lot of growers have resorted to cutting their cereal crops for hay,” Mr Robertson said.
“Dryland crops are growing on surface soil moisture only, rainfall is now essential for these crops to progress.”
