THE Merribrook Stud cleaned up in the White Dorper ring at the Royal Melbourne Show this afternoon.
The Collins family - who run the stud at Milloo, north of Bendigo - were awarded the champion ram and ewe broad ribbons.
However it was their ewe entry that finished the competition with the sought-after supreme champion title.
The 75 kilogram animal had a healthy five-month-old ram lamb at-foot.
She displayed measurements that included eight millimetres of fat, 47mm eye muscle depth and 95mm width.
The judge, Dianne Huett, Deloraine, Tas, was particularly impressed with the ewe's lamb.
"I couldn't go past her," Ms Huett said.
"She really has her lamb to thank, because he is magnificent and has dragged her through to the top spot."
Merribrook's champion ram continued on to the final round after winning the ram over 1.5 year-old class.
He tipped the scales at 95.5 kilograms, and showed measurements of 10mm of fat, 49mm eye muscle depth and 98mm width.
The judge, Ms Huett, praised the entry for his muscle and feet.
"I am surprised the ewe won over the ram, because the ram generally gets chosen first," stud principal Graeme Collins said.
Merribrook also received most successful exhibitor.
