MAKING More From Sheep (MMFS) is ready to move into the next era of helping producers deliver greater profit from their sheep enterprise.
MMFS has appointed a new team of agricultural specialists to deliver the program in each of Australia's States.
"We’re encouraging producers and producer groups to make contact with the State coordinators to find out how MMFS can work for them," MMFS national co-ordinator Mike Wagg said.
He encouraged farmers to suggest a local activity or a series of events based on topics in the online MMFS manual.
The manual has 11 modules covering three main themes – business, sheep technology and pasture.
More than 8000 producers have attended events organised as part of MMFS in the past three years. The program is a joint Meat & Livestock Australia and Australian Wool Innovation Limited (AWI) initiative.
“About 50% of producers who have attended events have made practice change on-farm to date,” Mr Wagg said.
“There are others who, when asked, say they intend to make changes when time and resources allow.”
