SIRE presence and physique won a junior Border Leicester ram, exhibited by Wattle Farm, Temora, NSW the breed's champion title at Sheepvention.
The win came on the back of the one year-old ram's success at the NSW Sheep Show, held in Dubbo earlier this year, where he was also sashed champion ram as a lamb.
The ram weighed 115kilograms and recorded 42 millimetres eye muscle and 11mm fat.
Stud principal Jeff Sutton said the ram was praised for his excellent structural integrity and impressive size.
The Sutton's plan to retain ram in the stud following semen inquiries. The ram was a son of the reserve senior champion at the 2013 Sydney Royal Show and comes from a line of Wattle Farm champions.
Judge Andrew Stoney, Inverleigh, complimented his dense fleece coverage which he said was soft handling and showed quality character.
Mr Stoney also commended the fleece of a young ewe exhibited by Bauer Border Leicesters, Ariah Park, NSW who was crowned champion ewe.
The 12 month-old ewe had lambs teeth and was complimented by Mr Stoney for her beautiful fleece, length and good feet.
Bauer principal Jamie Buerckner said they would show the stylish ewe at the Royal Melbourne Show later this year before carefully selecting a stud ram to join her with.
The Jackson family of Moyston had a successful day taking out three reserve titles with a junior ram and ewe.
