BIG ram Samson was certainly the biggest, and ultimately the best, Black & Coloured ram at the Australian Sheep & Wool Show today.
Students from Elisabeth Murdoch College, Langwarrin, were commended on their preparation of the grand champion ram - a three-year-old Corriedale.
The school had a team of 10 Black & Coloureds at the show, and said Samson was by far the biggest, as well as 38 other head across a variety of breeds.
Judge Gavin Wall said he was top for his well defined fleece that carried through to the underbelly.
Samson also had good conformation and good genetics from his mother, he said.
Three buyers from Victoria, Tasmania and WA had already put money down for the ram's fleece.
