MALTON Shorthorns principal Peter Falls successfully offered eight well-grown White Shorthorn bulls following the Nunniong Hereford sale at Ensay last week.
Six of the bulls sold to $10,500, averaging $5080.
The top-priced bull, a poll son of Sprys All Gold D052, was bought by the Rogers family from Gelantipy, who have used Malton white bulls previously to produce strawberry roan calves.
The Rogers family run a Hereford herd and use the roans for their own commercial operation, as well as selling the balance in the mountain calf sales.
Ensay cattle producers Ken Skewes and family also took home a poll son of Sprys All Gold at $6000.
