THERE were some unexpected Gippsland buyers that turned up for the Wodonga weaner last Friday, which was appreciated by vendors as they made numerous purchases.
Being an all-breeds sale, not all breeds suited all buyers and this created trend variations.
Both west and south Gippsland bullock fatteners competed for numerous pens of yearling steers paying the equal top price of $790.
Steers of better quality sold from $600-$830.
The top price of $830 went to Rangan Charolais' steers, 9-10 months and av 470 kilograms liveweight.
