At yesterday’s Corowa sheep sale, 9200 lambs were yarded which was 4000 less than the week before.
Heavy lamb quality was good, but not all processors were operating at full strength.
The market for export lambs slipped $6 to $10 and more in places. Trade lambs, restocker and light lambs were $3-$8 cheaper.
Heavy Merino lambs were firm.
Prices achieved included lambs +26kg $140-$170, 24-26kg $136-$148, 22-24kg $121-$137, 20-22kg $116-126, 18-20kg $107-$115. Restocker lambs made $75-$95.
Merinos featched prices of heavy $124-128, medium $96-110 and light $65-$82.
Crossbred hoggets sold for $98-$110 and Merino hoggests for $90-$102.
Less sheep were also yarded, with a total of 2100, which was 1000 less that the last sale. Sheep quality and competition were very good with the market fully firm. Prices included heavy crossbred ewes $88-$117, medium $74-$85 and light $58-$70
n the Merino ewes, heavy classes made $90-$121, medium $75-$88 and light $54-$73. Heavy wethers made $102-116 and rams sold for $35-$54.
