STRONG competition led to an excellent clearance rate at the Pinora Angus Bull sale yesterday with 41 of the 42 Angus bulls being sold.
The 46th annual Angus production sale also saw the sale average finish at $5073, an impressive $1031 more than last year’s average.
The top price bull, Pinora Hector H49, was bought by Glenmaggie farmer Brian Higgins and his son Michael for $10,500.
Landmark stud stock auctioneer Andrew Sloane said confidence was definitely back in the cattle industry following solid store prices, good rain and some important Free Trade Agreements in recent weeks.
