A MUCH stronger demand than anticipated sale thrust prices for joined Angus females $186 a head higher than last year in the annual Panshanger Estate production sale.
The pure Lawson's-blood cows aged four and five years made from $990 to $1150 a head and averaged $1090 a head.
Joint selling agent Ian Richard, Richards Livestock of Launceston, said 30 bidders from across south eastern Australia completed for the nine lots that were offered on the AuctionPlus network last Thursday.
All lots were sold to repeat buyer inquiry, Mr Richards said.
Of the 149 head listed two lots or 36 head were trucked to Holbrook, NSW, while 77 head were sold in five lots to southern Tasmania interests.
A further 36 head or two lots were purchased and shipped to Flinders Island.
The Panshanger Estate herd is farmed by George Mills at Scopus near Smithton in north-west Tasmania. It has 25 years of unbroken genetics to the Lawson's sire mate program with the current joining made to bulls bred from the Ultimate sire-line.
The sale was conducted by Richards Livestock and Roberts Ltd.
