MERRIDALE principals Peter and Maria Collins and family held their annual production sale at Tennyson last week, with bulls selling to $16,000 and averaging a healthy $4883, but there was limited demand for stud females with only five selling to $2750.
However both bulls and females sold after the sale, which has happened at several sales this year.
The highlight of the sale was the seven full flush brothers selling to $16,000 and averaging $7000.
These bulls were by Dunoon Evident E614, sired by Te Mania Bartel B219, out of the donor cow Merridale Ester D5 (by SAV Net Worth 4200).
The top priced bull Merridale Herman H104 had growth figures of +52, +94 & +123 for 200, 400, and 600-days along with +7.9 for eye muscle area, with the structure and balance to match.
The buyer Bruce Graham, Tumut, NSW, was represented by Kylie Winnell, NHD Wangaratta, who commented on the bull's body depth, length, structure, docility and balanced carcase and growth EBVs.
