LOCAL clients benefited from the subdued market at the annual Jarobee Angus bull sale at Beechworth today where bull sales peaked at $3000.
Son of Tuwharetoa Regent, Thomas Grade Up, Lawson Invincible and Ardrossan Equator A241 were part of the 26 quality bulls offered by stud principals Alan and Jan Robinson - of which the 12 bulls sold averaged $2563.
Barfold Beef, Barfold purchased the top priced bull, Jarobee Regent H162, son of Tuwharetoa Regent D145 and out of Jarobee Yorkshire D1.
Family favourite Jarobee Berkley, or fondly known as Scruffy, was reared by five year-old Steph Robinson and sold to the second highest price of $2750 to Paulet and Horsefield, Tallangatta.
“There were some quality bulls that sold cheap and for good value,” Mr Robinson said.
“We didn’t have the buying numbers here we usually do because beef industry isn’t that hot and the region badly needs rain.”
