Cracking pace at Wycheproof

Ted Rumler, and wife Val of Pootilla near Ballarat forked out a sale high of $276 a head for BLM-cross ewes with 165pc of White Suffolk lambs at-foot at Wycheproof. Having recently sold his Valeid Poll Dorset stud, Mr Rumler said he had a lot of empty paddocks and not many sheep, and buying first-cross ewe lambs as he has done in the past has now become almost impossible.

STARVED of recent store sheep buying opportunities, restockers set a cracking pace at the Wycheproof sheep sale Friday bidding the opening yard of 82 crossbred ewes and their 142 marked young lambs to a sale high of $276 a head.
