MERINO ewes scanned in-lamb made to $184 a head, after strong inquiry for breeders at Wycheproof today.
The pen of 165 October-shorn and SIL to terminal sires were offered by Roger Patterson, Wedderburn, and bought by Elders Warracknabeal.
Other Merino ewes, SIL or joined, made from $127-$162, while unjoined crossbred ewe lambs made from $124-$162.
Merino wethers also had strong inquiry from restockers and the trade.
2yo full-wool wethers made to $136, while most autumn-shorn wethers made from $70-$100.
A feature line of the wethers was offered by Greg McGurk, Charlton, who sold 522 rising 3yo to $136.
They were bought from Orroroo, SA, as lambs, and were shorn twice by the McGurks.
About 8000 were yarded, and were not to the usual standard normally expected at Wycheproof, with the inclement weather of the past three weeks taking a toll on some sheep.
