VICTORIAN cowboy Toby Collins can claim to be the ironman of rodeo after being the only rider to compete in all three rough stock events in the Warwick Rodeo at the weekend.
Mr Collins, who has recently returned from competing in North America, won the open saddle bronc ride at Warwick with a two-round score of 155.
Mr Collins also made the final of the open bull ride but was bucked off, with only one of the 10 finalists making time.
He won the saddle bronc at Warwick from Wantabadgery, NSW, cowboy Cody Angland who has also just returned from competing in North America.
There was more success for Victorians in Warwick, with APRA 2005 and 2006 all-round cowgirl winner Cherie O’Donoghue, Lockington, second in the barrel race and Tammy Woodall, Winnup fourth.
Terry Evison, Trafalgar, was fourth in the rope and tie and Aaron Bookluck, Nilma North, combined with Clancy Middleton, Emerald, Qld, to finish fourth in team roping.
Sally Malay, Yarrawonga, was second in the junior barrel race after moving from the Kimberley region of Western Australia to Victoria.
