A FEATURE display of pregnancy tested in-calf (PTIC) Angus heifers made $1150-$1230 a head at Kyneton’s monthly store cattle, yesterday where 700 head were offered keen local and feedlot inquiry.
The PTIC Angus heifer yarding, which were mostly on the point-of-calving, were dispersed mostly among local restockers along with a limited selection of cows and calves that saw better presented fetch $1100-$1340 per outfit, and went most to a Ballarat operator.
The market also included a mixed line-up of older yearling steers and heifers and a sprinkling of weaners not mustered in time for the centre's successful weaner sale conducted a weekly earlier.
Weighed steers on the day mostly made $710-$920 a head, topping at $1030 while heifers gained the competition of four feed-lot operators to make $620-$875 as most realised 200-215c/kg lwt.
