LOCALS and visitors of the Mountain Calf Sales were wined and dined in Ensay on Tuesday night.
The home of the Hereford certainly presented itself very well during the Elders annual Mountain Cattle calf sales at Benambra, Tuesday, Ensay then Omeo, Wednesday, March 14 and 15.
As the temperature climbed into the high 20s on Tuesday afternoon, the very large contingent of buyers moved onto Benambra for Elders’ Hereford sale.
Brendan Flynn, BC&GC Flynn, Ensay, will be offering 210 Angus steer and heifer calves in the Elders Black Cattle sale at Omeo, Tuesday, March 14.
Buyers heading to Omeo for Wednesday’s Hereford sale, March 15, will have the opportunity to bid for Peter Faithfull’s Hereford steers and heifers.

David Young has returned to running his own herd of Hereford cows, after having leased his Ensay property for a few years.
